Rich, fertile soil is good for plantation areas such as the Poplar Grove Plantation, the Magnolia Mound Plantation, and the Mount Hope Plantation; however, it is also excellent for ants. The winters in these areas may keep them at bay for a couple of months, but the ants are likely to return in full force as the weather warms, sometimes as early as March. There are many kinds of ants common to Baton Rouge, including pavement ants, odorous house ants, carpenter ants, and fire ants. Although they don’t eat wood, carpenter ants use their powerful jaws to carve galleries and tunnels through practically any kind of wooden structure, especially wet or damaged wood. Fire ants are infamous for their painful sting and for being highly aggressive. Fire ants can cause serious problems if they find their way inside.
Because of its rich soil and extreme humidity, Baton Rouge is also highly susceptible to cockroaches. Species like the American and German cockroaches are especially prevalent. These hardy critters don’t mind traveling in the filthiest areas to find food, which allows them to spread diseases like salmonella. Because they are scavengers, they can survive on the smallest food crumbs or even dandruff.
They are AMAZING! Anytime we have an issue come up, I call, and they're here in the next day and sometimes the same day! They've helped with fruit flies, rats, spiders, and roaches (2 abandoned houses behind my yard). They're always very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. James is an amazing tech that is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and does a wonderful job!

I truly appreciate DeAndre. There was a mix up with the contact but we got it squared away. He came back and treated our home. He took the time to inform me of where openings were where the pests were coming in and how my plan works. I truly appreciate that he was well informed. I was pretty distraught but his calm demeanor kept me calm. He was very well mannered and polite, very professional, and mindful of my property.

The technician was very thorough. She took her time to take care of all of my concerns. She completed all of the prevention's that were promised and it wasn't one of those 15 minute stops. She even setup for another tech to come by and complete an extra measure of prevention that she wasn't prepared for. We are very happy with the work that was done.

Fox technicians give back to the community as much as possible. This past summer, technicians partnered up with Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful for Fox’s Green Glove Project. They all spent a few hours cleaning up the aftermath of Hurricane Laura by the lake at Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge. Teaming up with the selfless people who clean the lake daily was an experience no one will forget.
